What is Hypertension (high blood pressure)?
If your diastolic blood pressure (the pressure in the arteries when your heart is at rest/bottom number on the blood pressure test) is higher than 90 mmHg, you have high blood pressure. In more than 80 percent of all patients suffering from high blood pressure or hypertension the origin is unknown. If left untreated, hypertension increases the risk of developing, among other things, stroke, heart attack and atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
As both inflammation and oxidation play a definitive role in the development of hypertension, specific natural nutritional nutrients (see below) are effective at lowering blood pressure and may prevent future complications.
Which natural ingredients can have an effect on high blood pressure?
Coenzyme Q10, vitamins C and D3, tocotrienols, fish oils (EPA/DHA), magnesium, calcium and many more.
What effects do these ingredients have?
- Lower mild to moderate high blood pressure by 10% by reducing peripheral vascular resistance.
- Reduce risk of cerebral hemorrhage.
- Reduce risk of blood clots or embolisms.
- Boost energy level.
- Inhibit the oxidation of, among others, LDL (unhealthy) cholesterol.
For the reader with a deeper interest:
How do these ingredients work?
- Treat and prevent vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
- Lower peripheral vascular resistance.
- Protect brain cells against temporary loss of brain function due to a transient ischemic attack (TIA).
- Stabilize the capillary wall.
- Improve myocardial contractibility.
- Increase the production of ATP in the mitochondria (energy).
- Inhibit platelet-aggregation.
- Reduce oxidative stress.
- Very potent antioxidant effect.
- Anti-inflammatory effect.
