What is frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)?
Commonly known as frozen shoulder, adhesive capsulitis is characterized by the shrinking of the shoulder joint capsule. Movement of the shoulder in all directions is restricted and painful. If you are a woman aged 40 to 60, you are most likely to be affected by this condition.
The cause of frozen shoulder is not known; however, inflammation of the periarticular tissue (tissue surrounding a joint) plays an important role. Conventional treatment has only proven effective in a few cases and it is very likely that a lack of essential anti-inflammatory substances in the body is a triggering cause. These anti-inflammatory natural nutrients (see below) in combination with physical therapy and medical acupuncture provide an effective treatment.
Which natural ingredients can have an effect on frozen shoulder?
Chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine sulfate, ginger root extract, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), grape seed extract, alpha-lipoic acid, fish oils (EPA/DHA), quercetin, vitamins A, B2, B3, C, D3, E and folic acid, magnesium, zinc, selenium, manganese, boron, copper, molybdenum and many more.
What effects do these ingredients have?
- Most effective analgesic for moderate to severe pain.
- Long-term analgesic effect.
- More effective than NSAIDs.
- Often reestablish normal movement within weeks/months.
- Generate more energy.
- Improve quality of life.
For the reader with a deeper interest:
How do these ingredients work?
- Treat and prevent vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
- Inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2).
- Inhibit the breakdown of collagenase phospholipases.
- Inhibit TNF-a and interleukin-1B.
- Inhibit the production of leukotriene B4 and prostaglandin E2.
- Stimulate the production of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans.
- Normalize the viscosity of synovial fluid.
- Stimulate ATP synthesis of the mitochondrion.
- Antioxidant effect.
- Inhibit the oxidation of fatty substances such as LDL cholesterol.
- No harmful side effects.
The information above is based on more than 1,000,000 articles published in scientific journals and which are available at MEDLINE, the world’s largest medical database. Below you will find a few of them listed:
